Setting Intentions
March 2023 Slice of Life challenge
I currently don’t have an opinion on whether or not daylight savings is something we should continue to keep in practice or not. I know there are a lot of opinions on the matter. Right now I have none.
What I do have however, are some observations about how this past weekend's spring ahead has made me feel. When the daylight hours are longer in the evening it gives my mind and body the cue that there are still productive hours left in the day. I am able to get more things done and feel that I have the energy to do them. Even though the amount of time is the same I feel like I have more. In contrast, when darkness came a lot earlier in the day the cues were such that I felt that I was working too long, out too late and should have already collapsed in bed a long time ago. Even though it's an hour lost, this year I am welcoming the time change.

I agree. I definitely feel more productive when there is more light in the evening!

We debated this current event in social studies today. I don't really think most of the kiddos have thought too much about it. I really want to enjoy more sun in the evenings, but I also don't really like driving to school when it is still dark!
