Setting Intentions
March 2023 Slice of Life challenge
I already wrote a bit about how there have been so many changes this school year and how I feel like the reset button keeps getting pushed. Well that button has been pushed yet again today when I officially found out that I will not only be going from remote to in person learning but I will also be teaching from a cart. Just call me the mobile music teacher. I'm in a but of a panic. With so many COVID restrictions to follow and now not having a room to teach from is causing me to hyperventilate. Excuse me while I put my head between my knees for a moment. I know I am not the first teacher ever to have to do this, but it is my fist time ever attempting this style of teaching. My feelings of panic are justified, right? I just want to ask for a little (okay, A LOT) of grace as I attempt to push a cart around a building without any actual transition time. Let me apologize now for being late and not starting on time. I can do hard/new/not ideal things. Yes, I can.

I appreciate your honesty in this slice! The switch from remote back to in person is overwhelming for sure and the added "bonus" of the cart seems a bit daunting. But I am confident you'll find what works for you! Our specialists operate in that same way and while I'm sure they miss being in their rooms they're rocking it- and you will too! Good luck and happy slicing!

I have witnessed this in the past. The music teacher had a red wagon she pulled around and the kiddos absolutely loved it. Our team was telling us how there are only 8 weeks of the school year left after spring break. You got this - the end is near. As an educator I am truly grateful our students still get to have music class, one of the best specials around.

You will be great! I keep reminding myself that all of this craziness and change is for only 7 weeks!

You will do it and you will be great. This unknown is hard for all of us, but we are making it through. It is March....hang in there....end of May will be here before you know it :)

Your writing conveys such a clear sense of emotion. I feel you! This year has been nothing but change, each schedule change creating havoc on how we provide services to our kids. I'm right there with you, nail biting as I consider how I will balance students who are 5 days in person with those who remain 5 days remote. We can do hard/new/not ideal things!
