Setting Intentions
March 2023 Slice of Life challenge
I exercise almost every single day. I have for years. I have a routine where I move my body each day, no exceptions. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday are rides on Peloton, core work and various weight lifting . My most favorite are Wednesday, Friday and Sunday hot yoga classes. I crave the heat and enjoy the sweaty detox. Saturdays have turned into my open free days. Sometimes I schedule an extra easy yoga class if I want to get up and going for the day, but if I choose to sleep in I end up turning it into a rest day instead. So today I give myself permission to blow off my workout and to be what feels like lazy. Even though I know it's really not laziness. It's actually a good thing to take a break and give my body the time it needs to recover. Sometimes it takes a bit of convincing myself that it's okay to not do anything. On these rest days I may simply take my dog for a walk. That way I'm still moving my body but it's nothing too strenuous.
I enjoy all kinds of physical activity. I had to change my workout routine from gym to home last year, hence the Peloton purchase. I'm so thankful I have been able to get back in the yoga studio recently, but my gym is still closed. It's a community college gym and they are not opening up to the community members yet. I really miss swimming at my gym and lifting heavy weights with my friend. I am sure when my gym opens up my routine may change again, but I will always keep exercise as part of each of my days. For the time being I am really loving the time saved by doing home workouts. I definitely do not mind eliminating the commutes. Do you move your body everyday?

I am inspired by how you move every day. When COVID happened here, I lost my motivation. I'm so glad to hear you found ways to stay busy, and how you are finding the positives!

I really miss my exercise routine. I used to go to a community center with a dedicated yoga studio, making good use of my yearly pass.
