Setting Intentions
March 2023 Slice of Life challenge
Do song lyrics ever randomly pop into your head when you are about to say something very similar to the song lyric? This happens to me on a daily basis. I have always wanted to write a post referencing this silly phenomenon. I tell myself that I will write them down when they happen so I can catalog all the different song lyrics that appear to me at various moments. However, I rarely remember to write them down and then when it comes time to blog about it I cannot remember all the very cool examples. So you are gonna have to take my word for it. Enjoy a couple examples I luckily wrote down so you can get an idea of what I am talking about.
Example 1 My husband: I’d rather just bag it and put a garbage sticker on it and call it a day. Me: “I got to bag it up, (Bag it up.) I like the way you work it, no diggity” -Blackstreet-No Diggity Example 2 Referring to who’s going to clean up the mess of rice crispy crumbs left on the kitchen table by my daughter. Me: “It’s gonna be me.” -NSYNC Example 3 H: Are you okay? M: Oh, sometimes they (my daughters) just drive me crazy. M: “She drives me crazy oo, oo…”. -Fine Young Cannibals

I LOVE music. I was a music teacher for 23 years, and I think in lyrics all the time. It amazes me that at 64, when I can't remember why I walked into a room sometimes, I can sing along to songs of the 70s and remember all/most of the words.

Nice, post. You did give three good examples, but I think it would be funny to see a dozen of them in a future post. I hope you'll keep collecting. I do trust that when you think of those lyrics, you belt them out as song during the conversation. Fun post!
