Setting Intentions
March 2023 Slice of Life challenge
I had kept a blog in the distant past called Found Myself Running. When I no longer “found myself running” my blog fizzled away into the depths of the internet. Unfortunately, I found myself injured and under the knife instead. 3 surgeries in 3 years to be exact. It’s been over three years since my last run. It was my mom’s birthday on December 27, 2017 when I went out for what was at the time a short 6 mile run. After that run I was toast. I didn’t know it at the time but severe hip and knee cartilage damage would need to be fixed. “Surgified,” as I lovingly like to call it.
So I find myself here blogging once again and in a strange yet coincidentally way I’ve just been cleared by my surgeon to ease back into running. So that must give me clearance to begin blogging again too. Well here I am anyhow embarking on both of these and maybe picking up where I left off 3 plus years ago.

A runner myself, I appreciate you linking your blogging to running. When life throws us for a loop, it effects all aspects of life. You so beautifully write, "Well here I am anyhow embarking on both of these and maybe picking up where I left off 3 plus years ago." I hope your transition to both is seamless. Welcome aboard!

Welcome to a community of diverse writers! I USED to be a jogger, long ago, but now I am happy to take long walks and save what is left of my knees! I look forward to seeing more of your return to running noticing here at the SOL>

I love reading slices of life that connect things I wouldn't have thought of connecting. Your post is making me think of all sorts of metaphors between running and writing.

I have never been much of a runner. I used to take my dog for long walks but she is now very old and mostly likes to stand with her nose in the air. I should make more time for proper walks. I hope you ease back into writing effortlessly.
