Setting Intentions
March 2023 Slice of Life challenge
I went to my gym today at my usual time. I always arrive at opening when it’s still dark and the sun hasn’t even thought about making an appearance. There are the usual people who join me at this same time each morning for their workout, except this morning. It was a ghost town. I was literally the only one there. Well, me and the desk girl and the guy in charge, we were the only ones there. In the wake of the virus scare I have been going about my daily life until someone in charge tells me I can’t. Was I the only one who wasn’t panicked enough to stay home from the gym today? It was a very disconcerting feeling. And this paired with my trip to Costco yesterday where swarms of people were competing for cases of bottled water and large amount of toilet paper is not helping the situation. Now I don't know how I feel. I’m wavering somewhere between “Come on now, reel it in everyone. This is getting crazy!” and ending up at Costco stocking up on god knows what. Help!

I was of your mind myself until a couple of days ago. Then I realized I'm over 70 and have a mild underlying condition, so I should probably be more cautious than I've been.It is hard to know what to do, but if you're still relatively young, don't panic.

We were camping for 4 days with out students, but were sent home today, one day early, because everyone is panicked. I know it can be a serious disease, but 6th graders aren't the most vulnerable and were getting plenty of fresh air.

My school was closed today until March 30th. I am not panicking but it is surely hitting very close to home. It is very unsettling. I didn't feel old, but all of a sudden 61 seems very vulnerable. Stay well.

It is nuts out there. I fear for some of these small businesses that they are going to struggle during all of this. Hope not!

It is hard to know what is right, but I think what is right is different for everyone. However, common sense must prevail. We are smarter and tougher than this germ. We will be ok!

First, you showed up for the gym. I find the dwindling traffic on the one hand pleasant, but on the other, eerie. I'll admit I ordered online for Costco today. With my 91 year old immuno-suppressed mom living with me, earlier this week, I went into self-quarantine mode out here in California. It is weird. But I don't want to get scared or worry. Just calmly take steps that make sense that are needed.
